I would keep scroll left/right at least when positioned at the very beginning or end of a chapter. When you reach the end of the chapter, swiping right to go the the next is the most natural. While reading a chapter (past the very top), it can be disabled, or have a small « undo chapter change » hover for 10 seconds or confirmation pop-up « are you sure? ». It all works for me 😇
Sorry, I misread your suggestion. Yes, disabling scrolling and replacing by hot borders would be perfect. Thanks.
The option has been added. You can now disable chapter switching via scrolling in each reader preset individually.
From my testing it doesn't need to be perfectly vertical, I can scroll roughly up to about 45° without triggering a chapter change. But I'll look into ways to reduce accidental gestures and make chapter switching harder to trigger unintentionally.
Would completely disabling chapter switching via scrolling be an acceptable solution? That way, scrolling would only move within the current chapter, and changing chapters would require tapping the left/right borders instead.
