Disappointed by Paywalled Basic Features
So far I’m a really big fan of Komic. Setup was super simple and I appreciate having a solid alternative to Panels. But the decision to paywall basic features like progress sync and offline downloads is such an unfortunate and immediate turn-off that I will never use this app. The entire reason many people start self-hosting is to get away from subscriptions, and while the lifetime option is appreciated…I’m not about to pay $23 to sync progress using my own server. I don’t mind supporting indie developers but what I don’t appreciate is basic features that undermine the entire goal of programs like Komga being locked behind yet another subscription. I do hope this decision changes, because I would really love to use Komic, but I can’t support the payment structure.
